Peacock Costume

Though they screech and squawk horribly, peacocks are still quite stunning and beautiful. This is why people choose to wear peacock costumes for Halloween. We offer a few interesting versions of the peacock costume. Do you want an enormous feathered tail just like the real bird, or are you willing to accept an ethereal skirt imprinted with the typical feather patterns? Be sure that your costume allows you to move freely and enhance it with the right mask, shoes, or makeup.

Did You Know?

  • Show Girl: The Pussycat Dolls are an American pop girl group and dance ensemble, founded in Los Angeles by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995 as a burlesque troupe.
  • Show Girl: The Moulin Rouge is best known as the spiritual birthplace of the modern form of the can-can dance. Originally introduced as a seductive dance by the courtesans who operated from the site, the can-can dance revue evolved into a form of entertainment of its own and led to the introduction of cabarets across Europe.
  • Show Girl: Go-go dancing originated in the early 1960s when women at the Peppermint Lounge in New York City began to get up on tables and dance the twist. There were many 1960s-era miniskirted clubgoers who wore what came to be called go-go boots to night clubs, so night club promoters in the mid-1960s conceived the idea of hiring them to entertain the patrons.
  • DIY Costume Idea: Nun - To make a nun's habit, wear a graduation gown, then take a white turtleneck shirt and cut the lower part off, so a bib-like piece hangs down over your chest, shoulders and back. Make a headpiece out of white and black cloth. Have on a large cross around your neck and carry a rosary and a bible.
  • DIY Costume Idea: Apple Pie - Buy or make an apple costume. Make a long paper banner, and write the number pi on it (out to as many digits as will fit) and wrap it around yourself.
  • DIY Costume Idea: Devil in Disguise - Put a lengthy overcoat or trenchcoat over a devil outfit and finish it off together with a set of Groucho Marx spectacles.
  • DIY Costume Idea: Bottle of Champagne - Try dark colored green fabric or a dark green trash bag to form a bottle shape that fits over your torso. Slice gaps for your biceps and neck and stuff with newscard boards to make a rounded shape. Duplicate the label from your preferred brand of Champagne and stick to your upper body. Have on a brown beanie with wire wrapped around to simulate the cork.
  • DIY Costume Idea: All That together with a Bag of Chips - Attach a smallish bag of snack chips to the front of your shirt. When people ask, you can say "I'm all that plus a bag of chips...."
  • DIY Costume Idea: Dusty Laundry - Slice out the bottom of a throwaway laundry basket, step into it, and try suspenders to hang it over your shoulders. Fill with grimey clothes. Add on some underwear at your head for laughs.
  • DIY Costume Idea: Dresser - Look for a box that fits round your body. Draw on drawers, add authentic handles or just draw them on. Place items on top (rings, timepiece, candle, etc.).
  • DIY Costume Idea: Anthrax Investigator - wear a gas face mask, a lengthy yellow-colored overcoat, and white-colored gloves.
